Spilled Ink
For this project, I was required to create a cover for the West Career and Technical Academy annual book, Spilled Ink. This poetry themed collection includes the photography and the creative writing students to work together and create something breathtaking and incredible. My cover submission made it to the first round of voting, and I am proud of that accomplishment. I inverted and masked the colors of a red and yellow oil painting in my house to create the swirly blue sky that looks as though it might mirror the swirls made by an artist. I used the birds to signify the creativity of the work and everything inside, as they seem to be flying away. I am overall proud of how I composed this project and will try and improve on my flaws for next year's submission.
