Spilled Ink
For this project, I was required to create a cover for the West Career and Technical Academy annual book, Spilled Ink. This poetry themed collection includes the photography and the creative writing students to work together and create something breathtaking and incredible. My cover submission did not win, but I do feel pretty proud of it. The girl who is peeking through in the background of the image correctly mirrors how some amazing writers and photographers hide in real life, but through their creative works, they can really shine through and express themselves. The different ink splatters on the page mirror how artwork can look like before it all comes together. Despite the fact that I think I could have done better putting everything together photographically, I am overall very proud of the work that I have been able to put out there for this assignment, as well as the message in which I feel it expresses.
