The emotion centered on in this portfolio piece is longing. This is a very serene piece, and the colors are more muted than they have been in any prior concentrations. The subject is glanding off screen, much like in the previous work of envy, but she is doing it with such a look in her eye that it could not be considered malicious, but instead solely longing for whatever it is she is looking at. I brought out the blues in her eyes to make her seem more emotional and teary eyed when looking at what she is looking at. The light blue hues in the background also show her internal sadness that is masked by her fairly passive face in the black and white photo. This piece hides the emotion the best via just expression, but the color is really able to bring out how she feels.
